🇩🇪 A spoonful of German culture
Ask a German something and you'll often hear "Es kommt darauf an." It's not dodging the question — people often want to get the conditions straight before giving a precise answer.
When making plans, "Sag mir Bescheid!" almost always comes up. In Germany it's generally seen as important to let people know in advance if plans change.
Keine Ahnung! is fine among friends, but at work or at a government office it's better to say something more polite, like Das weiß ich leider nicht. 😉
