How to use it
Shows that clause 2 changes depending on N, or that something follows a rule or standard (규칙에 따라). Before a noun: N에 따른.

Examples
같은 일이라도 사람에 따라 생각이 달라요.
Even about the same thing, opinions differ from person to person.
날씨에 따라서 기분이 많이 바뀌어요.
My mood changes a lot depending on the weather.
Compared with similar patterns
N에 의하면 gives the source of information ('according to the news'). N에 달려 있다 is a predicate: 'it depends on N'.
