🇩🇪 A spoonful of German culture
Many Germans care a lot about data protection (Datenschutz). When a new app or service comes out, the first question is often ‘Where does my data go?’, and websites tend to ask carefully for your consent.
Payments are becoming more digital, but plenty of people still prefer cash (Bargeld). In some small bakeries or shops, cash is easier than a card, so it's handy to keep a few coins in your wallet.
A fun fact: the Z3, often called one of the world's first programmable computers, was built by Konrad Zuse in Germany in 1941. 💻
