🇩🇪 A spoonful of German culture
Northern and southern Germany look very different. The north is flat, with coasts on the North Sea (Nordsee) and the Baltic (Ostsee). Heading south, you get more hills and forests, until the Alps appear in Bavaria. Germany's highest mountain is the Zugspitze.
Germans love hiking (Wandern). At weekends lots of people put on their boots and head for the forest or the mountains — and a break at a mountain hut (Hütte) is half the fun.
Rivers matter too. Along the Rhine valley you'll find castles on the hills and vineyards on the slopes, and many visitors enjoy it from a boat. 🏰
