How to use it
Adds another fact in the same direction to clause 1; clause 2 often has 도 or 까지. Past: -(으)ㄴ 데다가 (verbs).
Forming it
| 싸다 | → 싼 데다가 |
| 오다 | → 오는 데다가 |
| 맛있다 | → 맛있는 데다가 |
| 학생 | → 학생인 데다가 |
Both facts should point the same way: ✗ 값이 싼 데다가 맛이 없어요.
Examples
이 식당은 값이 싼 데다가 맛도 좋아요.
This restaurant is cheap, and on top of that the food is good.
비가 오는 데다가 바람까지 불어요.
It's raining, and on top of that the wind is blowing.
Compared with similar patterns
-(으)ㄹ 뿐만 아니라 is a bit more formal; -고 해서 gives one reason among several.
