make sure to …; (I) will see to it; have someone do
Level 3 · TOPIK II · intermediate
How to use it
With -(으)세요 it is a polite instruction ('please make sure to'); with -겠습니다 it is a firm promise by the speaker. In 'A가 B에게 V-도록 하다' it means A makes or has B do something.
Forming it
The instruction/promise use is formal; it sounds stiff between close friends.
Examples
Make sure you're not late for the meeting tomorrow.
I'll be more careful from now on.
